    i just skip a step, boil the brine and pour it in to the jar full of raw onions.

    I put them in the red wine vinegarette with tomatoes and cucumbers one time and they were sooooo goood that way

    These have been a fridge staple in out home for awhile now. So good on so many meals. I also add a little bit of dried oregano flakes to our batches.

    ok that was less then good. You can skip the boiling water step… Boil the brine. Put the onions in the jar raw. Add the boiling brine to it. The end!

    i usually pack the onions into my jar prior to boiling em so i know how many to cut (which is around 2-3 red onions cuz my countries onions are small af compared to america's)

    These are so good on everything; sandwiches, burgers, salads, grilled cheese, etc. Pro tip: cut the onions pole to pole instead of radial and they will have better texture and you'll have fewer tears. Otherwise I like this pickling recipe better than some others I've tried.

    I've heard orbital slices like what you did is bad for pickled onions, that it should be stem to stem slices. Thoughts?

    Why did you pour the hot water on he onions intead of simmering the mixture and covring the oniins on that and letting them cool? Just asking and testing recipes
